OUTstanding Leaders Program
What is OUTstanding Leaders Program?
OUTstanding Leaders is a dynamic talent development program for LGBT+ employees, launched in June 2019 to provide visibility for senior leaders from the LGBT+ community. Over the years, it has expanded to include employees from partner organizations (AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Elisa, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Lumentum, Roschier, Telia Company, Telefónica). In 2024, the cohort comprises 50% internal members from Nokia and 50% external participants.
Program highlights:
- Visibility: When the program started, there were no out LGBT+ senior leaders within the organization. The lack of visible role models meant that LGBT+ employees had limited representation at higher levels. OUT Leaders addresses this gap, promoting visibility and inspiring employees by showcasing successful LGBT+ leaders.
- Support: The program addresses specific needs of LGBT+ employees: especially those early in their careers. It offers a safe space where they can be themselves while developing their potential. Participants receive tailored coaching and mentoring, equipping them with the skills to become future role models.
- Belonging: OUT Leaders fosters a strong sense of community among LGBT+ employees and allies. It strengthens bonds within the LGBT+ network and integrates participants more fully into the larger organization.
Talent Showcase - it's your turn to shine
As the final event of our 2024 activities, we are organizing a talent show that celebrates the diversity and creativity within the LGBTQ+ community and our allies.
This is your opportunity to shine in a supportive environment where you can share with others what makes you unique, whether that is belting out a melody like Lady Gaga herself, Dancing like Bob Fosse, or any other talent you might want to showcase.
We are proud to collaborate with other leaders in the industry to demonstrate our renewed commitment to the value of diversity in the community. By leveraging our connections with partner organizations and allies, we have created a single, interactive platform to make your talents known.
