1 Tbps (25x40 Gb/s) Total Capacity 4-Node Optical Networking with Fully Programmable A/D Devices

1 Tb/s of total capacity optical networking with 4 A/D nodes based on 100 GHz spaced channels modulated with 40 Gb/s by using the integrated wavelength Add/Drop device is demonstrated. The results represent the highest aggregate capacity and spectral efficiency (0.4 bits/s/Hz) reported so far in dynamically reconfigurable optical networks.
