1.3µm Electro-Absorption Modulated Laser at 56Gb/s with record 7.4dB dynamic extinction ratio

For future access networks, we present a 56Gb/s 1.3µm electro-absorption modulated laser. The device, based on robust semi-insulated buried waveguide technology, shows record 7.4dB dynamic extinction ratio with 1.8dBm fiber coupled power.
