14 Gbit/sec optical signal encoding for lambda = 1.32 micron with double pulse drive of a Ti:LiNb03 waveguide modulator.

Optical pulses with time separation corresponding to bit rates of ~14 Gigabit/sec (NRZ) have been produced at lambda = 1.32 micron with a Ti:LiNb03 broadband traveling-wave directional coupler modulator driven by closely spaced, narrow electrical drive pulses. Resolvable optical pulses with as little as 100 psec separation have been generated.
