158 x 200 Gb/s PDM-8QAM transmission over 7,200 km with optimized error correcting code

We present a transmission over C-band and L-band of single carrier 200 Gb/s PDM-8QAM signals with 50GHz spacing, resulting in 4 b/s/Hz spectral efficiency. An accurate choice of the error correcting code permits us to reach a record capacity times distance product of 227 Pb/s•km
