5ESS-PRX As A Gateway Switch

The most demanding and indeed the largest application of the 5ESS-PRX to date is as an international gateway switch. Because international gateway switches form an extremely important link in world communications and therefore have high revenue impact for administrations, APT in cooperation with AT&T have built in the necessary reliability, maintenance and network management capabilities into the 5ESS-PRX to ensure it will be an efficient and cost effective gateway switch well into the next century.
