5G ADVANCED RECEIVER; TURBO-SIC FOR UPLINK BOOSTING Today's 4G deployments suffer from overloaded uplink channels in MegaCity applications. By assigning the same time-frequency resources to several users simultaneously higher uplink capacity can be provided for wireless networks. To decode this superposed signal of each user, advanced signal processing at the base-station receiver can solve this issue. One promising algorithm for multi-user uplink is Turbo- Successive Interference Cancelation (Turbo-SIC) applicable to SU/MU-MIMO and CoMP in cellular networks. Turbo-SIC is also a promising key enabler for new upcoming 5G applications such as massive IoT, where massive number of devices has to be supported.
