800 Service Architecture and Features

New Image

This talk will be presented as part of a division 551 Affirmative Action Program for women and minority students. The program involves a series of talks at several Universities to expose women and minorities to systems engineering work at AT&T Bell Laboratories. The talk describes the 800 Service architecture and how its flexibility lends itself to the construction of new features. These features allow customers better control over their telecommunications costs. A systems engineer's role in creating these new features is emphasized. The talk is based on the article '800 Service Using SPC Network Capability' by D. Sheinbein and R.P. Weber published in the September 1982 (Vol. 61, No. 7, part 3) edition of The Bell System Technical Journal.
