A 50GS/s Distributed Track-and-Hold Amplifier in 0.18 um SiGe BiCMOS

A three-stage distributed track-and-hold amplifier (DTHA) is presented for high-bit-rate optical receivers and millimeter- wave radios. Distributed topology enhances the bandwidth of the DTHA to higher than 42GHz in track mode. The DTHA achieves an IIIP3 of 21dBm and the SFDR of 42dBc. The 1.47 mm2 chip designed in 0.18um SiGe BiCMOS dissipates 640mW.
