A bcc to fcc Structural Transition in a Soft Blue Phase Crystal

A brief introduction to liquid crystals in which the principle of the twised nematic electro-optic display currently used in watches, calculators and even televisions, is demonstrated, is followed by a discussion of structural transitions in soft cubic blue phases.
