A Comparison of Algorithms for Large-Scale Device Simulation
01 January 1990
Numerical device simulation is based on the solution of a coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) that can be either transient or static, or even involve complex quantities, depending on the problem considered. In most cases, the system originates from the drift-diffusion approximation During the last decade, solutions to these equations have been sought for increasingly complex two (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) geometries.
