A Comparison of the Generalized Set Covering Algorithm with a Decision Tree Algorithm for the Diagnosis of Stroke (NOT KNOWN IF TALK GIVEN BECAUSE AUTHOR HAS LEFT AT&T)

For several years we have been working on the development of an expert system for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke. Our Stroke Consultant is actually made up of a number of small expert systems communicating via a blackboard architecture. We have implemented an alternative version of one of those expert systems using Reggia's Generalized Set Covering Model and compared results with the original version.
