A Detachable 2-DOF Resonator for Electromagnetic Energy Harvesting Systems

New Image

In this work, a novel resonator model consisted of two detachable masses with Coulomb damping has been developed. Fitting analysis between simulation results and experimental data shows that the proposed model exhibits better performance compared to the conventional mass-spring model with only viscous dampers. The energy harvesting system using the proposed resonator also shows a better electromechanical conversion effciency compared to both conventional 1-DOF resonator and fully attached 2-DOF resonator.
