A High Voltage, Solid State DC to DC Converter

A description of the internal block diagram is presented along with some of the feedback loop stabilization considerations. To accommodate the very large range of applied input voltage a feed forward control system is used to great advantage in combination with classic feedback control. The device includes protective features like under voltage lock-out and over temperature sensing. Innovative high voltage junction isolation power BIMOS technology is implemented. Integration includes CMOS, NPN, lateral PNP and lateral N channel DMOS devices.
