Plan recognition is a promising approach for engineering better interfaces in a wide variety of application areas, as well as an active research area in Artificial Intelligence (AI). In this paper we investigate the application of plan recognition to aspects of computer aided process design. We show how plan recognition makes conceptual design synthesis more intelligent and interactive, by supporting error detection and correction, advice generation, input disambiguation, and design completion.
