A Large-Community Key Distribution Protocol

A research task was begun in 1980 to define the optimal key distribution protocol for a large community of interest security system. The research was completed in 1982 and a patent was filed at that time which has recently been granted. This patent covers a method for distributing symmetric session keys using a bi-directional asymmetric exchange with a key distribution center.
