A Linear Strength Member Cable Sheath with Enhanced Mid-Span Entry

New Image

As fiber optic transmission penetrates the loop distribution network, frequent sheath entry for splicing into a tapered network will be required. A new fiber optic cable addresses this need by combining the benefits of the Lightpack cable core construction with a unique sheath design called LXE sheath. The sheath features two linear strength members and a coated steel armor bonded to a polyethylene jacket. The LXE Lightpack cable offers standard performance and easy entry in a compact size suitable for under- ground, buried, and aerial applications with up to 96 fibers.
