A Logic Controlled HVIC Combining DMOS and GTO Switches, an NMOS Relay Driver and a CMOS Comparator for Telecommunication Applications

A high-voltage integrated circuit designed to replace three mechanical relays, two latches, a relay-driver and a comparator is described in this paper. The switches are controlled by pin-programmable, TTL compatible CMOS logic. The control circuitry for the DMOS switch is designed to provide short-circuit protection. Dielectric-isolation and a BCDMOS process are utilized in the design of this circuit. The devices, sub-circuits, performance characteristics and applications of the integrated circuit will be discussed.
