A Method of Sampling Inspection By H. F. DODGE and H. G. ROMIG This paper outlines some of the general considerations which must be taken into account in setting up any practical sampling inspection plan. An economical method of inspection is developed in detail for the case where the purpose of the inspection is to determine the acceptability of discrete lots of a product submitted by a producer. By employing probability theory, the method places a definite barrier in the path of material of defective quality and gives this protection to the consumer with a minimum of inspection expense.
