A nanosecond-tunable capacitive III-V/Si distributed feedback laser

We demonstrate a tunable capacitive distributed feedback (DFB) laser allowing frequency reconfiguration, across a 10GHz band, with a switching time below 2ns. This standalone component may support future microwave photonic functionalities namely, 5G radio-over-fiber.
