A Network Management Protocol for Virtual Circuit LAN/WANs

Data Networks are growing in size and complexity. These larger networks require more management and their increased complexity requires new management techniques. This paper first looks at the evolving nature of network management, then uses International Standards Organization (ISO) standards and experience with the existing AT&T telephone network to determine requirements for effective and complete network management.
