A New Dynamic Joint Clustering-Scheduling Algorithm for CoMP-JP with Imperfect CSI

In coordinated multi-point (CoMP) systems full cooperation among the base stations (BSs) in the network is infeasible because of bandwidth and latency constraints in the backhaul and imperfect channel knowledge at the BSs due to noise on channel estimation in time division duplex systems and limited feedback bits in frequency division duplex systems. To deal with these issues clustering is typically used: the BSs are organized in clusters and each cluster performs CoMP transmission (reception) toward (from) the user equipments (UEs) in its coverage area. We develop a new dynamic joint clustering-scheduling algorithm for the downlink of CoMP systems.
