A photonic circuit is described that extracts DS1 channels from an FT3C signal and uniformly spaces their data bits. The circuit consists of a series of switched loops of varying delay, with the delay loops made from optical fiber and the switches under electronic control. Implementations for the switches include Lithium Niobate directional couplers or switched Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers. One purpose for the system is to interface an FT3C system to a photonic time-slot interchanger.
