A soft/hard X-ray beamline for photoabsorption, photoemission, and standing wave measurements in the energy range of 0.5-15 keV.

A versatile, focused, ultra-high vacuum beamline has been constructed for performing combined electronic and geometric structural measurements of bulk, interface, and surface species. A variety of problems inherent with previous designs have been minimized or eliminated and a number of desirable features have been improved.
