AC Stark Effect on Quantum Well Excitons

We have found that photoexcitation in the transparent region of quantum well herterostructures induces a significant energy shift of the n=1 exciton on an extremely short timescale. This phenomenon represents the first observation of an optical Stark shift on a ground state exciton.
