Acoustic Analysis of Voice Source Dynamics

Speech production is described in broad terms leading to an electrical analogue representation. Interfacing of non-linear flow dependent glottal impedence to vocal tract model is discussed. Concept of inverse filtering is introduced. Acoustic analysis of inverse filter output in terms of a parametric model is illustrated. Importance of voice source modeling to produce natural sounding speech synthesis is discussed.
