Acoustic-Phonetic Classification Using an Auditory Model Front End Analysis (NOT PUBLISHED)

It has been reported in the past that Ensemble Interval Histograms (EIH) can be used as the front end to an isolated word DTW based recognizer achieving good performance (Ghitza, ICASSP '87). In this study we analyze the EIH properties by implementing an EIH based front end to an acoustic-phonetic recognizer (Levinson, Ljolje & Miller, ICASSP '88) and testing it on continuous speech.
