Active Mode-Locking Characteristics of InGaAsP Single-Mode Fiber Composite-Cavity Lasers
01 January 1986
Composite-cavity lasers using single-mode fiber external resonators have produced short mode-locked optical pulses at very high repetition rates. This paper summarizes recent experiments using a composite-cavity structure with an integrated single-mode fiber output port. The dependence of pulse width on the electrical drive waveform and the repetition rate is investigated and limitations on the pulse width are discussed.
