The presentation shows some results dealing with tunable band stop filters for removing interferers of higher power level, which would overload the receiver. With an algorithm, which controls the tunable filter, the receiver overload is removed and in addition a compensation of distortions in the wanted signal due to the filter is compensated. This procedure helps to increase the robustness of a frequency agile base station for supporting mobile communication in unlicensed frequency bands and the coexistence of mobile radio systems in a common frequency band.
