Digital radio often requires performance improvement beyond that afforded by frequency diversity. Traditionally, this improvement has been obtained through space diversity. Unfortunately this approach can impose increased tower height requirements and can be costly to implement. Recently published results show that a new approach called generalized angle diversity offers equivalent or better performance than space diversity but with fewer tower modifications.
