Advisor's Workbench: A Tool for North Central College Faculty Advisors

The project have chosen is the development of an academic advising system using the rule-based programming language Prolog. The intent of the project is to show how rule-based programming can reduce the development time, size, and complexity of certain applications. Educational benefits include exposure to new technology and the opportunity to develop a system from requirements through implementation. In addition, the project will offer the challenge of learning to think about the programming process and the expression of a problem in a new way.
