All-ETDM 80-Gbaud (640-Gb/s) PDM 16-QAM Generation and Coherent Detection

A single-carrier 640-Gb/s PDM-16QAM signal is generated using electronic multiplexing to 80 Gbaud, quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and polarization multiplexing. Coherent detection and offline signal processing is used to equalize the limited bandwidth of transmit and receive hardware components.
