An Analysis of Two Criticial Sharing Parameters for Multi-Operator Scheduling in Cellular Networks
29 June 2015
Sharing wireless channel resources among cellular network operators saves costs by efficiently utilizing hardware and spectrum. Following the approach of resource sharing, we introduce a general formulation that covers current fixed and dynamic approaches as special cases. Our general formulation even allows to fall below the agreed sharing ratio, thus, occasionally penalizing an operator within defined boundaries. As our simulation results show, this full opportunistic use of the wireless channel leads to high spectral efficiency and to an interesting tradeoff between sharing guarantees and system performance.
