An Analytic Model of Printed Circuit Wiring Distribution
This paper describes a math model of wire distribution on printed wiring boards. In this model wire distribution are broken down into two components 1. net distribution and 2. segment loading distributions. The net distribution is closely related to the CAD component placement process while the segment loading distribution is closely related to the CAD wire segmentation process. In most cases net distribution is by far the largest component of wiring. The results in this paper include 1. Peak wire congestion estimates and 2. wire length estimates Both of those estimates are expressed in terms of readily determined circuit properties.
