An approach for Security Management in Unified Network Management Architecture
01 January 1990
This paper presents an approach for Security Management in the AT&T Unified Network Management Architecture (UNMA). UNMA, which uses OSI-based network management standards, covers six functional areas: fault management, configuration management, performance management, security management, accounting management, and network planning. Computer and network security is an important topic these days, with security management involving complicated issues. To tackle all security management issues at the same time requires much time and effort. A divide and conquer methodology, which first identifies issues and procedures, and then tackles them individually, is used for UNMA security management.
