An Assessment of the Impacts of Product Packaging on Reliability and Environmental Performance: A Lifecycle Assessment Approach
14 November 2016
This paper is the second phase of an analysis that provides methods to improve the impact that product packaging, used for shipment and storage, can have on overall reliability and environmental performance. We show that optimizing product packaging can contribute to an increase in reliability due to improved electrostatic discharge and corrosion protection, as well as a twenty percent reduction in the total environmental impact of commonly used packaging methodology.
