An Engineering Approach to Model-Based Troubleshooting in Communications Networks

Experts use models (structure and behavior) to represent knowledge of fault isolation in the trunk trouble sectionalization task domain. We present a model-based reasoning approach called model refinement, which had been used, as an experiment, to reason about faults on trunks.
