An SDN-based mobility management mechanism

Mobility management is a key technology in the mobile communication network. On the base of analyzing the current mobility management technologies and researching SDN, this paper presents an SDN based mobility management mechanism without tunnel, which is applicable to solve the existing issues such as GTP overheads, increasing signal, non-seamless handover, and low routing efficient, and is in line with the future network trend as well. The architecture of this proposal is depicted, and the signal procedure is minutely dissected. [the proposal of MM in this paper has been filed as a patent (No.815461)]
