Analog Vector Percolation

Dynamic measurements of the shear modulus and damping of a 2-d bond percolation model are reported. The measurements were made by resonantly exciting linear torsional oscillations in cylindrical samples consisting of lattices of 3600-5400 bonds. Our results validate claims of a different universality class for elasticity percolation. In order to explore the effects of finite size, critical variables like Xi and Chi were calculated from cluster statistics and compared to the measurements.
