Angle Diversity on Line-of-Sight Microwave Paths Using Dual- Beam Dish Antennas
01 January 1987
The paper presents both a theory and experimental results for angle diversity on line-of-sight terrestrial microwave paths. Using a dual-beam parabolic dish antenna very large reductions in channel distortion and fade depth are predicted, as well as measured, during periods of multipath fading. This makes angle diversity particularly attractive for digital radio transmission. In addition the use of a single antenna, instead of the two required for space diversity, has substantial economic advantages as well.
