Two major additions to our multiexperiment apparatus are presented in this paper. These are a metastable beam apparatus that produces 10 sup 8 metatables per sec and a sample manipulator that provides cooling of sample to liquid nitrogen temperature but also permits flash heating to 1500K followed by rapid return to LN temperature. We also describe new versions of our ion beam, photon beam, and LEED apparatus as well as the design of a K sup + source and a Te evaporator.
