Application of New Flame Retardant Materials in Wire and Cable Technologies

Various new flame retardant materials are applied in wire and cable technologies. These materials are either inherently flame retardant by virtue of their resins or contain flame retardant additives. The use of these materials are intended to reduce the fire aftermath, i.e., corrosivity, toxicity (as measured by LC sub 50) and smoke generation.
