Attenuation mechanism affect on filter shape in channelized dynamic spectral equalizers
Free-space based channelized dynamic spectral equalizers are theoretically investigated for two active device technologies: liquid crystal modulators and tilting micro-mirrors. Channel filter characteristic, such as bandwidth and interchannel transition, are found to depend on the different attenuation mechanisms and mirror tilt direction. Such information is required for choosing the proper device parameters in designing channel equalizers and similar components.
