Blades: An Expert System for Analog Circuit Design

Bell Laboratories Analog Design System (BLADES) is an expert system being developed for analog circuit design. The system emulates the hyman circuit design process in which "standard" analog building blocks are used as a basis for design. This new approach simplifies the integration of the knowledge base and the representation of human expertise. BLADES is being built to be used as a skilled circuit designer or as a technical assistant.
