BOSS: A Visual Interface for a Workstation Environment
In this paper we discuss the design and construction of a command interpreter style interface called BOSS, for a workstation configuration. The key motivation guiding its design and implementation is the under-utilization of existing resources in a typical workstation environment. This paper addresses four major points: the under utilization of workstation resources, keeping track of the user's activities and increasing the context provided, customization of the interface, and a uniform interface to a variety of applications.
