Broad-hand and pulsewidth maintained wavelength conversion based on a nonlinear optical loop mirror (NOLM) consisting of l-km high-nonlinearity dispersion-shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) is realized in the whole C-band, Because only I-km HNL-DSF fiber is used, the walkoff and dispersion effects are reduced. After 160-km standard single-mode fiber return-to-zero (RZ) transmission at 10 Gb/s and full-dispersion compensation, the converted signal has a small penalty and the pulsewidth of the converted pulses is almost maintained; these;results indicate that the converted pulses have very good performance in the whole C-band.
