Broad-band reflectometers at high frequencies
14 June 1955
If the voltage and current with their relative phases at any point in a transmission line can be sampled, the sample outputs can be combined in various ways, to give a standing-wave monitor, a power meter, or bridges for the measurement of resistance, reactance or phase. The special form of instruments described uses reactive coupling elements in order to achieve broad-band working. Notes are given on the construction of the circuit elements used.
