Broadband Array Design Using the Asympotic Theory of Unequally Spaced Arrays

This paper address the problem of broadbanding a linear array of omnidirectional sensors. Attention is restricted to the case of shaded delay-and -sum beamforming and broadbanding is defined to mean that the beam pattern function has little or no frequency dependence of peak response, main lobe width, plateau sidelobe level and clean sweep width.
