Capacitance Calculations for a Single-Stator, Single-Rotor Electrostatic Motor.

The capacitance of a simple single-stator, single-rotor electrostatic motor configuration is analyzed. This capacitance is obtained as a function of the rotor position. This is done analytically using conformal mapping techniques, for a symmetric rotor position. The general case is formulated using integral equations, which are solved numerically for various rotor positions. The theoretical predictions are corroborated with experimental measurements.
