CAS Gateway System Description.
CAS Gateway is a product that allows customers to build an interface between the Craft Access System (CAS) and a 3270 Bisynchronous host (e.g., LMOS Host, FACS, MTR) without having to make any changes to the host. Until now, CAS could only be used to communicate with the LMOS High Capacity Front End (LMOS HCFE), the Mechanized Loop Test (MLT) System, and Switched Access Remote Test System (SARTS). In addition, the software that provided that interface was built and controlled by AT&T. With Gateway, customers will be able to write and control the software needed to interface CAS with a 3270 Bisynchronous host of their choosing. In the future, Gateway can be modified to communicate with host machines that use other protocols (e.g., ASYNC).
